Last Night i went a bit mad and decided to actually stay up and watch or listen to WWDC live. I tried to get some sleep before the event (which started at 3am Melbourne Time) but i just couldn’t contain my iPhone Enthusiasm. So after two instant coffee’s and some good ol’ vintage scrubs i was ready to be part of the Apple WWDC Experience.

My main thrill was due to all the rumors buzzing around about the prospect of a new iPhone with better Camera and iChat Capacity (sadly we haven’t got a front facing camera or a bonjour chat client such as iChat Mobile)

Despite this i was overwhelmed to see that so many of our prayers have been answered with the 3.0 update and the new hardware that looks like the splitting image of the normal 3g model (which is good for those who bought a 3G standard during the crazy cheap clearance *cough* one of the Hughes Family Members )

Before i go any further in this post i have to put an image of the new beast in this post as it just looks amazing with the fresh new Apple Applications

Amazing Looking Isn’t it?

Anyway, this new amazing palm sized computer is the latest revolution to be brought out by the currently Jobless Apple Computer Inc

Most of the new features announced are just part of the 3.0 update. But some hardware only features such as the Magnetic Compass, Voice commands and of course that wonderful 3.2mp camera point to a gradual step forward beyond the wonderful product that is the iPhone. As a whole i think the market will and should view this new GS model as just an upgrade and not a new revision (despite apparently boasting a completely different inside architecture)

Despite this, on the 26th of June (Australia Release Date) i will be lining up to get hold of this new piece of joy, and finally ditch my rather reliable 3.2mp camera clad Nokia 6500. Today i registered for updates from my preferred service provider so if they do what they did with the 3G and allow you to preorder i can do that.

One of the features that seems to be glossed over that will be big press when people start to get their hands on the device is the new headset which boasts a “centre switch” which by my imagination means it will have more than just once button since if a device has only one button you wouldn’t call that button the “centre button”

Only Time will tell.

Today i was having a conversation with someone regarding website design and attracting customers. Which made me take stock and realize that the internet and advertising is changing at such a rate that an advertising style a few years ago that was perfect wouldn’t work today at all. I think the largest change has been in the personalization of the internet that has been called web 2.0, which i’ve focused on seriously in a previous article. But to recap, the main idea behind it is that the company or individual converses on a personal level back to the visitor, sometimes in real time allowing a better sense of the client base to be realized. For example i believe a keystone of an internet advertising campaign is no longer just getting a high search ranking in google but having accounts and links spread across twitter, myspace and facebook enabling the user to interact in this web 2.0 way. For some companies this style of approach is still bleeding edge and it all depends on your demographic. For example a DJ or lighting and sound company caters to younger generations that are always attached to some piece of technology, for a company like that a few targeted ads on facebook and a twitter feed telling their “followers” about gigs there currently working on should be a corner stone of their web deployment advertising.

On the other end of the spectrum accounting companies would be looking to gain the edge still in the printed media form and maintain a static html website that simply provides there viewers with a place to find contact addresses and telephone numbers. The reason for this is simple, older generations stick to what they are comfortable and they are used to picking up a phone, organizing a meeting and heading in for a face to face meeting to discuss business. The current 90′s generation wants everything to be instant, they want to be able to gain infomation and act on within minutes, i know of some of my peers who have poor face to face communication skills but the moment they get in front of a computer they can talk faster than i think! The times are a changing.

If you use the internet as socially as i do then you will know that people stick to what their comfortable. The best example is the constant war between users of myspace and facebook in which some people refuse to change or manage two accounts as their sick of having to use two upload programs to share their latest pictures of friends completely spent at a random party.

Unlike others i have managed to accept a lot of services that allow me to trade infomation with other peers, despite that i still have the issue of showing everyone all my images and data. This is where pixelpipe comes in

Pixelpipe allows you to send your files to them and they will distribute them to all the locations you need them, which for me includes flickr, facebook, myspace, twitpic and picasa for photos and youtube for videos.
For example when im out working on productions instead of just sending all my images to twitpic for my followers to see i can instead send it to pixelpipe which will then send it to all the sites i define in a matter of minutes. If i want i can even tag the images or add a bit of a description explaining what im taking a picture of.

No matter if your a picture pro or just a photowhore, you can save time by using pixelpipe to send your images where they need to go
